The Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering requests nominations for its new Distinguished Alumni Award. Nominees must be graduates of (at least) one of the department’s programs, either undergraduate or graduate, who have made great contributions to the field and have maintained ties to the department and University. The winner will be invited to attend the Spring Awards Banquet in Urbana-Champaign with all travel expenses paid where he or she will receive a plaque. In addition, the winner’s name will be added to a plaque displayed in the Agricultural Engineering Sciences Building on campus. The following are the criteria upon which selection will be based:
If you wish to nominate one of our alums, please mail or email at most a 2-page description of the ways in which your nominee has distinguished him- or herself according to the above criteria. Also, include a sheet with your name, contact information, and affiliation with the department along with the nominee’s name, contact information, current employment information, and graduation year, degree, and major if known. Nominations are due March 7, 2008 by 5pm CST. Nominations will remain active and eligible to win for three years. Current faculty and staff of the University of Illinois are NOT eligible to receive this award until such time as they are retired, emeritus, or have left the University.
