Undergraduate Programs

Agricultural & Biological Engineering Degree Paths

The Agricultural & Biological Engineering (ABE) program offers two different undergraduate degree paths: a 4-year program administered by the College of Engineering, and a 5-year program that combines agricultural and biological engineering and agricultural science. The 4-year program of study provides a bachelor of science in agricultural & biological engineering from the College of Engineering. Coursework includes basic and advanced engineering principles, agricultural engineering, biological and related agricultural sciences and other technical subjects.

The 5-year program of study provides dual bachelor of science degrees from the College of Engineering and the College of ACES. Coursework provides the same comprehensive education as the 4-year program and includes an additional year of related agricultural, physical, and biological science courses.

ABE students can direct their program toward specialization in the following four areas:

The Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering is submitting a proposal to the campus for establishing two concentrations, one in Agricultural Engineering and the other in Biological Engineering.  In anticipation of these concentrations being in place by fall 2010, students interested in Biological Engineering should consult with their adviser to choose courses that will be relevant to this future concentration.

Technical Systems Management Degree Path

The Technical Systems Management (TSM) program is a 4-year undergraduate degree program administered by the College of ACES resulting in a bachelor of science degree. You will study technology systems, business and economics (including organization, operations, management, marketing, and sales), and oral and written communications.

TSM students can choose from five areas of specialization:

  • Construction Systems Management
  • Environmental Systems Management
  • Mechanization, Marketing, and Technology Management Systems
  • Production Systems
  • Renewable Energy Systems
