Distinguished Alumni Award

The Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering requests nominations for its new Distinguished Alumni Award. Nominees must be graduates of (at least) one of the department’s programs, either undergraduate or graduate, who have made great contributions to the field and have maintained ties to the department and University. The winner will be invited to attend the Spring Awards Banquet in Urbana-Champaign with all travel expenses paid where he or she will receive a plaque. In addition, the winner’s name will be added to a plaque displayed in the Agricultural Engineering Sciences Building on campus. The following are the criteria upon which selection will be based:

  • Professional accomplishments
  • Continued involvement with and support of the department and University
  • Active involvement in professional societies
  • Contributions to the field

If you wish to nominate one of our alums, please mail, email, or complete the online nomination found by clicking here. We ask that you keep the nomination to a maximum of 2-page description of the ways in which your nominee has distinguished him- or herself according to the above criteria. Please be sure to include a sheet with your name, contact information, and affiliation with the department along with the nominee’s name, contact information, current employment information, and graduation year, degree, and major if known.
