There are many opportunities to obtain help with classroom materials outside of the classroom. Students can attend office hours with teaching assistants or professors or schedule appointments with them. In addition, the following services are offered:
All incoming freshmen in both the Agricultural & Biological Engineering and Technical Systems Management degree programs have the opportunity to participate in the Learning Communities established by the Department. Within the communities, students of the same major will be able to take classes together allowing students to get to know one another. This is important in building the students’ network and sense of community and encourages students to form study groups which increase the likelihood of academic success. All students will also be invited to attend several activity nights throughout the year hosted by the Department. This is an excellent opportunity for students to get to know one another and some of the faculty and staff within the Department.
