Studying abroad is an excellent opportunity for students to gain a more global outlook in their field. There are over 400 study abroad programs available to students at the University of Illinois, ranging from 10-day to year-long stays in over 100 countries. To help make sure students get the most out of their experiences, the ABE department has identified several study abroad programs that could be of special interest to students majoring in ABE or TSM.
Students can also look specifically for programs led by faculty in the college of ACES. ABE students can participate in a summer break ACES/Engineering study abroad program in China led by faculty member Xinlei Wang. Students who are able to take advantage of this opportunity will conduct research at Zhejiang University, travel to various industrial sites, and participate Chinese language courses and cultural excursions.
The ACES Office of Academic Programs, International Programs in Engineering, and the campus Study Abroad Office are all top resources to help students find a program that’s right for them. There are also various forms of financial support to help students cover the costs of their international adventures.
