As 3D modeling is becoming increasingly more important in almost every industry, students need a formal opportunity to learn 3D modeling skills. 3D printing provides an inexpensive way of creating customizable tools, equipment, and supplies as well as a fast way of prototyping parts for machinery and systems. As 3D printing technology decreases in price and increases in precision, breadth of application, and material variety, more industries will move towards 3D printing to help solve their problems.

Illinois AgrAbility acknowledged 30 years of service to Illinois agricultural producers with a virtual Anniversary Celebration on September 29. Since 1990, Illinois AgrAbility has provided direct services to over 800 farmers with physical limitations and disabilities and provided education about assistive technologies and referrals to another 1200 producers.

URBANA, Ill. -- Each spring the University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) recognizes faculty, staff, and graduate students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements or exceptional service to the college. The recipients are honored at the annual Paul A. Funk Recognition Awards Banquet. This year, the banquet was held Monday, April 17, at Pear Tree Estate in rural Champaign, Ill.

I was born in Mumbai, India, to parents who worked full-time. My mother, who was the first woman to work as an officer in the Maharashtra Civil Services, came in at a time when parental leave did not exist. Because of this, I spent my early years with my grandparents in Kumta, India. My grandfather was a university physics professor and instilled in me an interest and respect for science – particularly astrophysics.
